Security Health Plan is one of the largest health maintenance organizations in Wisconsin. It is a not-for-profit medical plan that belongs to the Marshfield Health Clinic System and serves roughly 230,000 people.

Security Health Plan of Wisconsin began as the Greater Marshfield Community Health Plan in 1971. It later became Security Health Plan in 1986. The Marshfield Health Clinic System was started by a group of physicians in 1916 under the name Marshfield Clinic. Today it is one of the biggest private group medical practices in the country, with physicians in 86 medical specialty areas. In the categories of health insurance plan rankings, Medicare, Medicaid, and private plans, Security Health Plan was scored in the top 10 percent by the National Committee for Quality Assurance for 2014-2015. Marshfield Clinic Research Foundation and Marshfield Clinic Education Foundation conduct clinical research and education programs.
