Molina is a healthcare organization that offers services to nearly 5 million people through government-sponsored programs, such as Medicare and Medicaid.

Molina is proud of the continued involvement of its founding members and their families. The organization is led by physician J. Mario Molina, who is the president and son of the founding physician, C. David Molina. In 1980, C. David Molina, who was working as an emergency room physician at the time, had grown tired of indigent patients not receiving the care they deserved. The clinic he started in Long Beach, California, was meant to serve this sector of the population, and Molina healthcare was born.

Molina’s headquarters remains in Long Beach to this day, and the company has since opened additional clinics in Florida, New Mexico, Virginia, and Washington.

Molina is a Fortune 500 company and has been named to the “100 Best Corporate Citizens” list by Business Ethics magazine. The National Committee for Quality Assurance ranked Molina’s Medicaid plans among the best.

Like many insurance companies, Molina’s product offerings include HMO plans.
